Jasper‘s only east Indian restaurant serves exceptional, all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner buffets. Chef/owner Gopala Shelke takes a hands-on approach to his business; watch him expertly prepare the authentic dishes of his home country in the open-to-view kitchen equipped with a tandoor clay oven. Gopala was educated to be a chef at a culinary arts school in Mumbai. Before opening his own restaurant, he honed his craft at Taj President Hotels in India and locally at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. His natural, healthy cuisine is made without food colouring or MSG and relies on spices such as fresh garlic and ginger, chilies, fenugreek and cardamom. Curries are Gopala’s specialty. Dinner buffets feature nine curry dishes, and there are always vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal choices. Catering services and a take-out menu are offered.

Jasper Curry Place has a simple, east Indian inspired décor (including paintings from India) and wood booth seating. Guests are entertained as their meals are made by Gopala in the open kitchen. The restaurant boasts a newly expanded sidewalk patio that is the largest on Jasper’s main street; patrons enjoy the view of Roche Bonhomme mountain.
